He completed more than 77% of his passes, which was the highest mark since Week 1. Yes, it was against the winless Jets, but Newton’s 274 passing yards were the second most he has thrown in a game this season. His performance against the New York Jets also was encouraging. The heartbreaking fumble didn’t ruin Newton’s momentum. A costly fumble in the final seconds of the fourth quarter was the focus, but Newton completed 60% of his passes and didn't throw an interception for the first time since Week 1. Although the Pats have put together a two-game win streak for the first time in 2020, Newton’s progress started in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills.
